First French UNPriPOC

We are excited to announce that the first French United Nations Prison and Probation Officer Course (UNPriPOC) was delivered in Senegal, from March  9th to the 17th, 2016. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service and the Correctional Service of Canada co-delivered this training, which was attended by participants from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Cameroon, Rwanda, and Sweden.

International Women-Centred Training

The Group of Friends of Corrections is leading the development of an international women-centred training that incorporates the United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-Custodial Measures for Women Offenders (Bangkok Rules) and the Nelson Mandela Rules.  The training aims to increase the knowledge of female prisoners’ issues and the understanding of women-centred approaches, while demonstrating how to respond to the needs of female prisoners through the operationalization of the Bangkok and Nelson Mandela Rules.
