First French UNPriPOC

We are excited to announce that the first French United Nations Prison and Probation Officer Course (UNPriPOC) was delivered in Senegal, from March  9^th to the 17^th, 2016. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service and the Correctional Service of Canada co-delivered this training, which was attended by participants from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Cameroon, Rwanda, and Sweden.

International Women-Centred Training

The Group of Friends of Corrections is leading the development of an international women-centred training that incorporates the United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-Custodial Measures for Women Offenders (Bangkok Rules) and the Nelson Mandela Rules.  The training aims to increase the knowledge of female prisoners’ issues and the understanding of women-centred approaches, while demonstrating how to respond to the needs of female prisoners through the operationalization of the Bangkok and Nelson Mandela Rules.
